Level 3 Historic Building Record
The Brief:
An architecture firm in North Yorkshire required immediate help to release a planning condition for an historical building record before development could start on site. The building had undergone several phases of development despite a lack of historic research. The local council stipulated that a record of the building was required. Time was of the utmost concern, as all other conditions had been discharged and work was ready to begin. A level three record had to be to be produced in a very short timescale, inclusive of historic research which had not formed part of the original application.
We Delivered:
Our historic researcher undertook the time-consuming historic research and archive trips, whilst our archaeologist undertook the site visit to carry out the photographic record and undertake the architectural analysis. We discussed findings to gain a deeper understanding of the building’s evolution and each team member produced their respective sections concurrently. This was then pieced together into a well – rounded, informed report that satisfied the planning condition. Our team delivered this in eight days of the inception meeting, meeting the client deadline.
