Services for Education and Community Groups

Spencer Heritage Services has been delivering community consultation and educational activities for over 20 years. We provide meaningful community consultation programmes, identifying and engaging with key stakeholders across your project. We provide consultation events, social media content and digital led community engagement. We deliver archaeology themed school sessions as well as digital resources for mainstream and SEND specialist schools. Our sessions can enrich your history lessons and provide an ideal gateway to cross-curricular skills and learning, within and beyond the National Curriculum.

We can provide:

  • Community Consultation

We can provide tailor made community consultation events for your heritage projects. Our events engage the local community to raise awareness of your project, helping to start a dialogue with stakeholders and gain feedback on your proposals.

  • Heritage Education and Training

We believe that all young people should have access to archaeology and heritage education. It really can unearth potential, develop enquiring minds and enrich a child’s learning experience.

We have provided practical archaeology and history sessions in schools across the country for the past 20 years. We have extensive experience in the fields of archaeology, education and heritage education which has informed our session material.

We are now bringing our resources online through our Archaeology Alive website, with the hope of reaching a wider audience.

  • "Kate and Natalie were absolutely fantastic on our Roman archaeology visit to our school. The activities were interesting and engaging. They were brilliant with the children and kept their interest all day with exciting activities. The skeletons were fun and the children were made to investigate the grave sites and become archaeologists. A wonderful visit from start to finish and we would welcome them back again in a heartbeat"

    Kerry Nuttall, Simmondley Primary School

  • “The whole school took part and the day was full of activities with a chance for everyone to get involved. The archaeology theme helped to bring history to life and it was very clear that the students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and learnt a lot in the process.”

    Vanessa Fessey, Deputy Head.

    Alfreton Park Community Special School

  • "Home Education Archaeology Club is brilliant in every way. Brilliant activities, pictures on the time board, art and crafts and certificates. I would recommend to anyone from 4-400!"

    Thomas, 7 years old.

  • “The Children were fascinated by the “detective” elements of archaeology covered in the presentation, and particularly enjoyed the demonstration model of archaeological features”

    Nesta Waters, Class teacher.
